Kinds Of Scuba Diving Equipments

Wetsuits diving , or underwater swimming, can be a fun and fascinating experience if you are properly equipped with the necessary scuba diving equipment.

Having the proper scuba diving equipment will help you stay underwater longer and safer. Breathing through a regulator will allow you to move more freely and comfortably underwater. However, if you want to make your diving experience completely memorable, you will also need to take note of other equally essential scuba diving equipment and gears.

Wearing a Wetsuits diving will help you sustain good vision even while underwater. They also serve to protect your eyes from any harmful element.

Your flippers form part of your basic diving equipment. Make sure that they are a perfect fit otherwise you may just find yourself feeling utterly uncomfortable throughout the dive.

A full wetsuit is another important scuba diving equipment. Your wetsuit will keep you protected from cold water by preserving body heat. Wetsuits are normally made of neoprene and spandex.

Some divers prefer to wear a safety helmet, one that is not air-holding and comes with a built-in forehead light.

Of course, aside from the basic scuba diving equipment already mentioned, it is also important for you to bring along your buoyancy compensator device (or BCD), torch/flashlights (for low visibility environments; for night diving), and neoprene boots.

Once you’ve gathered all your scuba diving equipment, you’re good to go. However, before diving into the cool blue waters, make sure you’ve mastered everything your dive instructor taught you, or you’ll end up regretting you ever went underwater!

No matter how physically fit you may be, you cannot rely upon your personal ability to survive in the water without some form of additional floatation, especially so if the water is cold or you are injured. Shock alone can have such a deleterious effect that a person can be rendered nearly helpless. Therefore, life vests are people’s guardians of life.

Diving wetsuit

A diving suit is a garment or device designed to protect a diver from the underwater environment. Modern diving suits can be divided into two kinds:

    * "soft" or ambient pressure diving suits - examples are wetsuits, dry suits, semi-dry suits and dive skins
    * "hard" or atmospheric pressure diving suits - an armored suit that permits a diver to remain at atmospheric pressure whilst operating at depth where the water pressure is high.

Wetsuits are relatively inexpensive, simple, Neoprene suits that are typically used where the water temperature is between 10 and 25 °C (50 to 80 °F). The foamed neoprene of the suit thermally insulates the wearer. Although water can enter the suit, a tight fitting suit prevents excessive heat loss because little of the water warmed inside the suit escapes from the suit.

Proper fit is critical for warmth. A suit that is too loose will allow too much water to circulate over the diver's skin, robbing body heat. A suit that is too tight is very uncomfortable and can impair circulation at the neck, a very dangerous condition which can cause blackouts. For this reason, many divers choose to have wetsuits custom-tailored instead of buying them "off-the-rack." Many companies offer this service and the cost is often comparable to an off-the-rack suit.

Diving wetsuits are limited in their ability to provide warmth by two factors: the wearer is still exposed to some amount of water, and the insulating Neoprene can only be made to a certain thickness before it becomes impractical to don and wear. The thickest commercially-available wetsuits are usually 8mm thick. Other common thicknesses are 7mm, 5mm, 3mm, and 1mm. A 1mm suit provides very little warmth and is usually considered a dive skin, rather than a wetsuit.

How to Choose the Best Wetsuits?

Wearing the proper wetsuit will help you experience comfort as well as gain confidence during your diving activity. Wetsuits offer divers the best thermal protection for the body as it traps a layer of water against your skin. The water is then warmed by body heat and becomes an insulator and protects the body from cold water.

A wetsuit is made of neoprene. Therefore, the warmth it gives is dependent upon the thickness of this material. Manufacturers use different thickness for the various parts of the suit. However, the largest size or thickness for wetsuits is 6 millimeters.
It is also important to choose one that fits you perfectly; one that hugs your body like no other, unless you want the suit to hang loosely on your body. Most of today’s new models of these diving suits are made of synthetic neoprene and lined with spandex fibers that provide not only comfort but also additional flexibility.
Although wetsuits differ in size, shape, flexibility, and quality, you can make sure that you choose only the best one for you by following several suggestions.

Your Wetsuit Style

A wetsuit can either be full-body, three-fourths with only half of the arms and legs covered, or two-piece. Recreational divers are usually advised to use the “shorties”, or the three-fourths, while the two-piece wetsuit is meant primarily for cold water dives. Professional divers use the full wetsuits.

 Choose According to Your Needs

Your choice of wetsuit will also depend on your diving needs. Make sure that your wetsuit fits your body perfectly so that your flexibility is heightened even when underwater. Snuggly fit wetsuits also help improve insulation. However, make sure that you are comfortable with its thickness so that it doesn’t feel bulky underwater.

What's wetsuits? Why does you need wetsuits?

Wetsuits help to preserve body heat by trapping a layer of water against the skin; this water is consequently warmed by body heat and acts as an insulator. Water conducts heat away from the body approximately 25 times more efficiently than air, so an unprotected individual can succumb to hypothermia even in warm water on a warm day.
Wetsuits are made out of closed-cell, foam neoprene, a synthetic rubber that contains small bubbles of nitrogen gas when made for use as wetsuit material. Nitrogen gas has very low thermal conductivity, so it reduces heat from the body (or the water trapped between the body and the wetsuit) from being lost to the water outside of the wetsuit.
Some wetsuits of late have even begun to incorporate Merino wool and titanium fibers to add warmth characteristics, while keeping the thickness of the suit to a minimum. A wetsuit must have a snug fit to work efficiently; too loose a fit will allow water to escape from between the suit and the body, taking the body's heat with it. Flexible seals at the suit cuffs aid in the water retention. Neoprene is very buoyant, helping swimmers to better stay afloat, and for this reason divers need to calculate extra weight values based on the thickness of their suit to achieve neutral buoyancy underwater. The suit loses buoyancy and thermal protection as the bubbles in the neoprene are compressed at depth.

We can supply many kinds of short kids suits for surfing, mainly material is 2.5mm/3.0mm neoprene (15%CR 50%CR, 100% CR), we can supply different colors; we can supply ODM&OEM servicess to our clients, also we accept special order according to clients samples. History Of Life Vests

The most ancient examples of "primitive life vests" can be traced back to inflated bladders of animal skins or hollow, sealed gourds, for support when crossing deeper streams and rivers.

Personal flotation devices were not part of the equipment issued to naval sailors up to the early 1800s, for example at the Napoleonic Battle of Trafalgar. Seamen who were press-ganged into naval service might have used such devices to jump ship and swim to freedom. It wasn't until lifesaving services were formed that personal safety of boat crews heading out in pulling boats generally in horrific sea conditions was addressed.

Purpose-designed buoyant safety devices consisting of simple blocks of wood or cork were used by Norwegian seamen. The modern lifejacket is generally credited to one Captain Ward, a Royal National Lifeboat Institution inspector in the United Kingdom, who, in 1854, created a cork vest to be worn by lifeboat crews for both weather protection and buoyancy.

The rigid cork material eventually came to be supplanted by pouches containing watertight cells filled with kapok, a vegetative material. These soft cells were much more flexible and more comfortable to wear compared with devices utilizing hard cork pieces. Kapok buoyancy was used in many navies fighting in the Second World War. Foam eventually supplanted kapok for "inherently buoyant" (vs. inflated and therefore not inherently buoyant) flotation.
